TPACK stands for Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. It is a theory that was developed to explain the set of knowledge that teachers need to teach their students a subject, teach effectively, and use technology. We’ll get into more details in just a minute, but let’s look at where this started. What is TPACK? At its core, TPACK is a framework that explains how technology, pedagogy and content knowledge coalesce to create effective learning experiences. This post is designed to support a one-hour professional development session exploring the TPACK framework and applying it to creating a lesson.

TPACK is a framework where the relationships between a teacher‘s knowledge of content (CK), pedagogy (PK), and technology (TK) are well orchestrated to bring about effective teaching. TPACK as a framework for TL co-planning, teaching and assessing has strengths. TPACK assists in identifying and proposing potential entry points and sources of support to compliment the strengths of the classroom teacher. The Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, builds on Shulman’s idea of PCK, and attempts to capture some of the essential qualities of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge. 2017-07-10 · Tpack Framework.
Mishra and Koehler’s (2006) TPACK Framework is a model that consist of seven frames: TPACK, CK, PK, TK, TPK, TCK, and PCK (Figure 1), which is used to highlight and explain the knowledge that teachers need to teach their students effectively, with a primary focus on the connection, interaction, affordances, and constraints that exists between content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and
The TPACK approach goes beyond seeing these three knowledge bases in isolation. TPACK work focused upon explaining and interpreting the construct, TPACK has now entered a second generation where the focus is upon using the construct in both research and development projects.
TPACK, or Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, is a framework that attempts to capture some of the essential qualities of knowledge requires to integrate technology in education. Roblyer and Doering (2010) refer to teaching as “a complex combination of what teachers know about the content they teach and how they decide to teach that content.”.
